About FCP

Fishing Creek Players Inc. began with a spark in the summer of 2009, when the Northern Columbia Community and Cultural Center hosted a Civil War–commemorative festival in Benton Park. Among the music, food, and festivities was a one-act play, The Dividing Line, written and directed by M.R. Daniels. What started as a single performance quickly revealed something bigger—the community’s enthusiasm for live theater. Cast members and audience alike wanted more, and from that excitement the Fishing Creek Players were born.

Our first full production, Neil Simon’s Rumors, opened in January 2010 and set the tone for what would follow: laughter, storytelling, and a stage where local talent could shine. Since then, FCP has grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing live theater to the region. We’ve staged everything from comedies and dramas to interactive murder mystery dinner shows, each one woven together by the energy of volunteers, the creativity of our members, and the support of our community.

Over the years, we’ve invested in sound and lighting, expanded our technical abilities, and turned everyday spaces into stages filled with life. Our dinner theater productions, often in partnership with local restaurants and culinary arts programs, have become a hallmark of our seasons—nights where food and theater combine to create unforgettable experiences.

At the heart of FCP is a belief that theater is for everyone. Whether you’re onstage, backstage, or in the audience, you are part of the story we tell. What began as a one-act play in the park has grown into an enduring tradition, and we’re proud to continue writing the next chapter with every production.
